This time I came to Hangzhou for an in-depth tour of West Lake, and specifically chose Zheda Yuanzheng Lanshe Hotel (Hangzhou Xihu Hefang Street). After two days of staying, what impressed me the most was not the ubiquitous Republican style decorations, but the comfortable feeling of being online from check-in to check-out, which made the "peaceful living experience amidst chaos" a reality.
The first feeling of checking in was particularly comfortable. As soon as I walked to the hotel entrance, the doorman took my suitcase filled with souvenirs and handed me a refreshing cup of Hangju tea, dispelling the heat of wandering around West Lake during the dog days. There is no complicated registration process at the front desk, and all the procedures can be completed in two or three minutes. They even specially arranged a high area room on the inner side for me, saying, "You can occasionally hear the sound of cars in the alley in the street facing room. I have chosen this quieter room for you, and you can rest well after a day of exploring the lake.
At the moment of opening the guest room door, there was no typical stuffiness of old building renovation hotels. The retro wooden furniture paired with light beige walls and no redundant internet famous decorations made the space appear particularly transparent. The most surprising thing is the details of the intelligent facilities. The whole house lighting, air conditioning, and electric curtains can all be controlled through voice commands. Just after strolling through West Lake, sweating profusely, you can adjust the temperature to the appropriate level by shouting at the voice assistant, without having to search for the remote control in the dark. The softness and hardness of the bedding are just right, with fluffy down pillows paired with a supportive mattress. After walking tens of thousands of steps continuously, I was able to relieve most of my fatigue after lying down for a while. I slept until 9 o'clock the next day without being awakened by external sounds.
The design of the bathroom is full of thoughtfulness, with a complete separation of dry and wet areas. The showerhead in the shower area has a dense and powerful water output, and after a day of walking, taking a hot shower can relieve most of the soreness and swelling in the body. A privacy curtain has been specially installed next to the washbasin, so when living with friends, one person can wash and the other can rest in the room without any embarrassment. What surprised me the most was the wet umbrella I casually placed on my desk. While the cleaning lady was cleaning, she quietly helped me put on the umbrella cover prepared by the hotel and placed a handwritten note next to it, reminding me that there might be light rain the next day and to remember to bring an umbrella when going out.
During the two days I lived here, I didn't feel disturbed at all. Before cleaning, I would always knock on the door to confirm. When I saw my West Lake tour guide lying on the table, I would quietly fill my empty water cup and not move any paper at will. The 24-hour self-service laundry room is equipped with a dryer. My coat, which accidentally got wet from the rain, dried warmly in half an hour. The lobby provides free Hangju tea and snacks throughout the day. After strolling through Hefang Street late at night, you can easily grab a piece of osmanthus cake to cushion your stomach.
As a Republican style hotel hidden in an old alley by West Lake, Zheda Yuanzheng Lanshe Hotel (Hangzhou Xihu Hefang Street) does not have luxurious facilities, but has achieved the ultimate goal of "comfort, thoughtfulness, and not being disturbed" in accommodation. Beside the crowded scenic area by West Lake, this has become the most reassuring landing point for my trip to Hangzhou. Next time I come to Hangzhou for a leisurely stroll around West Lake, I will definitely choose this place as my first choice.Show more
